General Manager and Beverage Director, Le Grand
Originally from France, Thibaud Duccini moved to Los Angeles in 2009 ready to take on the city’s then-emerging dining scene. After receiving his master’s degree from acclaimed hospitality management school Vatel in Los Angeles in 2010, he landed at the acclaimed Patina Restaurant Group, where he worked his way up to General Manager at the award-winning Patina. Under the leadership of founder Joachim Splichal, Duccini quickly learned that hospitality means to strive for perfection each and every time someone enters the restaurant. That lesson stuck with Duccini as he continued on to General Manager roles at Michael Mina’s Stonehill Tavern (Dana Point, CA), Firefly (Studio City, CA) and Wally’s Wines (Beverly Hills), curating elevated dining experiences for all his guests.
Today, Duccini combines his European background and fine dining experience in his current position as General Manager at Le Grand. Duccini encourages his staff to act as a team on the floor, concentrating on quality service and a lively atmosphere, to evolve Le Grand into one of the best new restaurants in Downtown LA. As a Certified Sommelier, Duccini also serves as the Beverage Director at Le Grand and has curated an adventurous wine list of French, Italian and California varietals at all price ranges that pair thoughtfully with the seafood-forward menu.
When Duccini is not working, he gleans inspiration from his world travels, especially through food and wine. At home, Duccini constantly explores the best new restaurants in his DTLA neighborhood.
