Chef de Cuisine, Le Grand
As an Athenian native who grew up surrounded by traditional Mediterranean food, Chef Chris Manos knew from a young age that he wanted a future in the restaurant industry. Now, partnered with his brother Chef Alex, he is excited to further make his mark on the LA dining scene as the Chef de Cuisine at Le Grand.
Like his brother Chef Alex, Chef Chris graduated from Le Monde (Athens, Greece) in 2012 with a degree in culinary arts, readying him to take his skills from the classroom into the kitchen. He quickly landed positions at some of Greece’s best hotels and most revered restaurants: from the Vedema Resort in Santorini, to the one-Michelin starred Hytra restaurant and the two-Michelin starred Spondi, both in Athens. Eventually, Chef Chris found his way to Los Angeles, where he joined his brother, Chef Alex, at the high-end retail-restaurant concept Wally’s Wines in Beverly Hills. He then went on to become the opening lead line cook at Curtis Stone’s Gwen in Hollywood, where he honed his fine dining skills, before cooking once again, side-by-side with his brother as the Chef de Cuisine at The Huntley Hotel in Santa Monica.
Today, as Chef de Cuisine at Le Grand, Chef Chris is ready to bring his own style to the kitchen. He utilizes strong techniques and classic Greek flavors, while his brother Chef Alex stays focused on the creativity of the dish — forming the perfect balance between accessibility and elevation on the plate. Chef Chris’ extensive culinary and fine dining background allow him to work the Le Grand menu with confidence and skill. Finally working together at Le Grand on their first solo project, the Manos brothers create Mediterranean inspired dishes to please every palate – from shareable favorites to twists on traditional Greek, French, and Italian staples. Chef Chris, dynamic and ambitious, is one to watch as he takes the stage at Le Grand.
When Chef Chris is not working, he can be found exploring the neighborhood around his Silver Lake home with his wife and dog, enjoying meals with friends and family, and planning his next bucket-list trip.
